More than 150 trees planted in Baddi to protect environment

June 28, 2013

In a commendable effort to tackle environmental degradation and promote a sustainable future, the Mohit Gupta Foundation has recently launched a significant tree-planting initiative in Baddi, a bustling industrial town located in the Solan district of Himachal Pradesh, India.

With a strong commitment to protecting the environment, the foundation planted over 150 trees, promising to have a lasting impact on the local ecosystem. This initiative is a testament to the power of community participation in tackling environmental challenges.

The Need for Reforestation

Like many other rapidly urbanizing areas, Baddi is also grappling with environmental issues arising from industrialization and urban development. Deforestation, air and water pollution, and loss of biodiversity have been significant concerns in the region.

The Mohit Gupta Foundation recognized the urgency of addressing these challenges and took a proactive stance to contribute to environmental protection.

One of the key strengths of this initiative was community participation. Mohit Gupta Foundation worked closely with local residents, environment lovers and volunteers to complete the tree planting project.

This collaborative approach not only facilitated the planting process but also created a sense of ownership and responsibility among community members.

Variety and Maintenance

A variety of tree species were chosen to promote biodiversity and enhance the overall ecological balance in the area. In addition to fruit-bearing trees, native species such as deodar, cedar and oak were selected that can provide sustenance for both humans and local wildlife.

Proper maintenance practices were also adopted to ensure the survival and growth of the newly planted trees.
